JTSY is a family owned business within the community that provides great soul food. Their menu includes a wide range of goodies from Fried chicken, baked chicken, meatloaf, smothered turkey wings, fish, seafood, potato salad, yams, greens, cabbage and a host of other delicacies. The workers are pleasant and courteous even in the midst of a high volume of customer activity. Their cornbread adds great flavor to whatever is ordered from their menu.They are tried & proven to be a welcome & enduring pleasurable presence in the neighborhood. Don't forget to get some of their Mac & cheese to complement any dish! The prices are within range of where they should be among the multitude. I'm vegetarian and just moved here from the south. I've been homesick, and most soul food I've had in the northeast have been subpar. So, I had low expectations. But good lord this place is amazing! I ordered takeout through Door Dash, so I can't speak to the restaurant, but the food is incredible!! The portion sizes are really generous, too. I ordered the All Sides Dinner Platter with mac & cheese, broccoli, and greens, a side of mashed potatoes, and cornbread. The cornbread is PERFECT. It's sweet like my family makes All of it is seasoned perfectly, and cooked perfectly. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Food is as all good soul food should be. Do not be fooled by the location! Baked as well as grilled chicken and fish are delicious. You could also just do side dishes. Plenty to eat and if you have elders in your family they will be impressed with the meal from start to dessert. This is my new go to for good food to serve my elders as well as myself. Stay safe and go to Just to Serve You for good meals.
This food really had me on my ass. that's it. That's the tweet. In all seriousness it was some of the best soul food I've had in a while. Mac and cheese and greens were off the chain for sure. Wait was a little long, but it was a weekend and that's to be expected... plus it was worth the wait!
